Voter turnout in Pune more than previous 2 elections, 47:39:59

Turnout in 19 seats of Maharashtra on the 17 April, 2014 was 54.67 per cent as per the official figures by PTI. Despite several reports of voters names missing from the Pune Voter list, Pune voter turn out has increased as compared to the previous elections in 2009. The 2014 voter turnout at 7 p.m. was approximately 59% which is almost 19% more than the last time Pune voted. Other key constituencies of Maval had a voter turnout of 63% which is about 18% more than 2009 while Shirur voter turnout increased by 8.5% to 60% and Baramati showed a 58% turnout.

The 2009 elections voter turnout was a mere 39% for Pune while in 2004 it was 47%.
