The ‘Books by Weight’ is an initiative by Butter-fly Books, owned by Ajay Gupta and Madhavi Gupta, said Rajesh Varak the exhibition in-charge. The exhibition was scheduled to end on may 4, but owing to a mistake in a newspaper advertisement it was kept open till May 6.
Varak said that such an exhibition where books were sold by weight had been organised in Pune about two years age, and soon it will be replicated in Mumbai.
“Books for children and encyclopaedia volumes had been sold in large numbers during the exhibition,” said Varak. Books on history, health, art and craft, gardening, animals, interior designing, cookery, dictionaries, war novels and travel were also in demand.
He said that there was a rush of book-lovers in last four days, and that people seemed rather pleased with the concept.
