Want to change your address on Aadhaar Card? Here's a step-by-step guide to do it online

Aadhaar Card Update: Aadhaar Card is a very important document in India. With Aaadhaar Card one can avail many benefits offered by the Indian government under different schemes. However, to avail benefits through the Aadhaar card, your address needs to be updated. The online process to update your address on the Aadhaar card has become easy.

 

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced a direct link to change address online. The UIDAI tweeted the direct link — ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/ and asked Aadhaar users to change their address online and keep their KYC document updated.

 

“You can now update your address in your Aadhaar online through Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal at ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/ to update,” the UIDAI tweet reads.

 

Steps to change Aadhaar card address online:

 

Step 1: Log in at the official portal ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/ and follow some simple online steps.

Step 2: Click on ‘Proceed to Update Aadhaar’

Step 3: Enter your 12-digit UID number

Step 4: Now enter security code or captcha code;

Step 5: Click at ‘Send OTP’ option;

Step 6: An OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar-registered mobile number;

Step 7: Enter OTP after receiving the OTP;

Step 8: Click at ‘Login’;

Step 9: Aadhaar details will get displayed.

 

The central government had extended the deadline for linking Aadhaar to Permanent Account Number (PAN) considering the pandemic situation in the country. The last date to link your Aadhaar to your PAN is June 30, 2021. The deadline was extended from March 31 to June 30. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) in a notification has said, if anyone fails to link PAN card to Aadhaar card, it will become inoperative. It also clarified that in case users link their PAN with Aadhaar Card after the deadline passes, then the PAN card will "become operative from the date of intimation of Aadhaar number."
