The resident doctors at Bandra’s Bhabha hospital called off their strike on Monday afternoon after the hospital management promised them day and night security in “high risk areas.”

“We called off the strike at 3pm after the management promised us that there will be security at high risk places like the medical intensive care unit, pediatric intensive care unit, neonatal ward, casualty among others,” said Dr Ankush Kohle, a resident with the hospital.

The doctors in the hospital had gone on strike after two of the resident doctors in the hospital — Dr Vaibhav and Anita Patil — were attacked by parents of a child, who died in the hospital.
The doctors were posted at the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) where the child was admitted.
