The Vikhroli police are on the lookout for a person who allegedly set four bikes and a car on fire for unknown reasons.

The incident took place in Tagore Nagar, Vikhroli. On Thursday morning, when residents saw the gutted bikes and the car, they informed the police who then started looking for suspects who had frequented the locality the previous night. Several people were questioned and vagabonds were also picked up.

A senior police officer said, “The suspect could also be a resident who could have taken this step to take revenge on one of the vehicle owners for some reason. We are questioning the vehicle owners to know if they had any kind of rivalry with anyone in their locality.” He added, “It could also be that some vagabond did this for fun.”

It has been found that kerosene was used by the accused to set the bikes and car on fire and it could be that one of the vehicles was set on fire and the fire spread to the other vehicles.
This is the third such incident in this month.

In the first incident at Wadala, eight bikes were gutted by an unidentified person, while, in the second incident at Ghatkopar, three bikes were gutted by a person who wanted to take revenge on one of the bike owners who had refused to give Rs50, which the accused needed to buy liquor.
