The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has said it had resolved the right-of-way issues for the first arm of the Metro, which will run on the Versova- Andheri-Ghatkopar route.

Speaking to reporters after a review meeting in this regard on Monday, additional metropolitan commissioner SVR Srinivas said that the car depot at DN Nagar would also be ready in five months’ time.

He added that around 80% of the civil work in the car depot had been completed and the depot would be ready in around five months along with the technical installations and communication systems.

Srinivas said they had managed to resolve right of way issues for the Metro project. Work on the second part of the Metro bridge, which will pass over the railway lines at Andheri station, would also start soon. The MMRDA plans to commission 11.40km long Metro railway line in March 2013.
