Kasab’s sea map produced in court

 The map charting the sea route from Pakistan to Mumbai used by 26/11 terrorists was put on record in the special court on Thursday. The map, along with another one showing the route from Malabar Hill to Mahim, was recovered with 38 other articles inside a backpack allegedly belonging to Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab, from the terrace of Cama Hospital by the police.

Shaikh Nazimuddin Nihrauddin, an employee of the hospital and a panchnama witness, identified the two maps, the articles and the backpack in court. “This is clinching evidence to show that the attackers came to Mumbai through the sea route,” said special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam. He added that he would produce more evidence which would support this crucial evidence. 

The prosecution also examined assistant police inspector Subhash Borate of the Azad Maidan police station who carried out the panchnama. A security guard at an office near Cama Hospital was also examined. Prabhakar Yadav said that he was witness to the security staff handing over the CD of the CCTV footage showing Kasab walking down Badhruddin Tayyabji marg on the night terror struck the city.
