In a new twist to the online chatting affair between two IIT graduates, the Delhi high court on Monday directed the boy and girl not to remain in contact. Justice Mukta Gupta, in an in-chamber hearing, counselled both the IIT-Kanpur boy and the IIT-Bombay research associate girl.

“Both will not write letters, emails or make communication with each other,” Justice Gupta said while disposing of the petition and giving liberty to the girl to take any legal remedy she wishes to for her alleged sexual exploitation.

The HC’s response came on a petition filed by the 25-year-old boy alleging that the girl, who is 5 to 6 years older to him, of emotionally blackmailing him. He is working as an engineer in a multinational firm in Gurgaon.

In his plea, the boy told the court that he had refused to marry the girl and she began sending him threatening mails and SMSes saying she would commit suicide if he does not marry her.
