According to the cops, when the victim asked for her money back, the accused gave her a cheque of Rs12 lakh, which bounced.

Thirty-year-old woman, a ladies tailor based in Kalyan has been conned to the tune of Rs12 lakh on the pretext of a buying a flat in a posh society. The accused is yet not arrested. The victim, Girija Gaurav Ghag, met the accused few months back. As the woman wanted to buy a flat, the accused assured her that he can get her a flat in a posh society, which is under-construction as of now, for lesser rate.
According to the cops, when the victim asked for her money back, the accused gave her a cheque of Rs12 lakh, which bounced. So, the victim lodged a complaint with the Khadakpada police station. A case has been registered with the Khadakpada police station under sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust) of the Indian Penal Code. The accused have been identified as Santosh Sukhdev Bhavsar, who is in his 30s He is also a resident of Kalyan.
A police official from the Khadakpada police station said, "We have not yet arrested the accused. The victim had paid the amount in two installments, through cheque. Further probe is on".
