The religious conference held by Shree Krishna Pranami Vishwa Parishad in Nashik has underlined the need for one direction and one goal in times when we find diversity in thought and opinions within the society.
The conference, held on Friday at Sadhugram in Tapvan as part of the ongoing Kumbh Mela, saw a large gathering.

The Parishad has planned many programmes like discourses, bhajan and kirtan between September 8 and October 2 at its camp in Sadhugram. The conference on religious unity was attended by many sants and gurus of different sects. All of them highlighted the need to maintain religious peace, unity and harmony to help keep the society unified.

Speaking about the tradition of the Parishad, Guru Mohanpriyacharya Maharaj said, "The work of the Parishad dates back to 12th century when Guru Prannathacharya Maharaj felt the need to synergise different ways to reach god. He professed that there should be one way, one direction that should take all together. It was he who started this tradition and stated that the almighty — the Bramhaparmatma is one and people, society, country, nations should come together for the sake of humanity. It is on the teaching of Guru Parnnathacharya Maharaj that we come together during the Kumbh Mela."

The Shree Krishna Pranami Vishwa Parishad is a religious organisation that has more than 50 lakh followers and 600 temples across India and Nepal. The Parishad is also very actively involved in social work and imparts education through 15 schools and three degree colleges. It also gives educational scholarships to the economically weaker students, runs 30 Goshalas (cow shelters), four hospitals and has conducted polio rectification surgeries for more than 25,000 patients. The Parishad has also time and again stood up by helping during natural calamities.

Guru Krishnamani Maharaj stated that the programmes will be conducted for a month wherein, along with religious preaching, emphasis is given on social bonding. "Most of the programmes are aimed at creating an awakening among the youth and to instill in them the sense of responsibility to towards nation, society and the self. We want to instill in them good values through the medium of religion which is the need today," he said.

The Parishad believes in dignity to all and bows to the almighty. It believes and preaches that young or old all are equal and draws strength for the Lord.

The activities at the camp of the Shree Krishna Pranami Vishwa Parishad in Sadhugram stand out for the reason that its followers are seen involved in bhakti — the devotion and faith to Lord and the humanity created by him.
