Power disruption brings Mumbai monorail to standstill

It is uncertain by when normal train services would be restored or whether services will be terminated for the rest of the day.

The Mumbai Monorail came to a standstill on Sunday morning due to power disruption, forcing the fire department to evacuate 11 passengers and a pilot from train to ground.

Sources confirmed that the power disruption occurred after 8 am. "It is an internal fault and not from the power supply company. The power disruption is being looked at for resolution," said the source.

It is uncertain by when normal train services would be restored or whether services will be terminated for the rest of the day.

In the last one year there have been numerous cases of technical glitches of Mumbai Monorail that dna has been reporting about right from door opening in between stations to voltage fluctuation to system crashing to communication failure.
