Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai on Monday after he suffered stomach pain and throat issues. At around 7:30 pm, shortly before Goyal was to address a press conference at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, he was rushed to the hospital.
Goyal had to cut short his meeting with senior railways officials after doctors rushed to CSMT to check his health issues. Doctors from the Breach Candy hospital said that the minister had suffered from minor health issues.
“He was detected with urinary colic (type of abdominal pain commonly caused by kidney stones), due to which he was rushed to the nearby hospital,” said a senior railway official.
N Santhanam, Chief Executive Officer at Breach Candy Hospital, said, “There is no major health issue. His health is stable now and he is kept under observation for further medical treatment. He suffered stomach pain.”
