Oppositions slammed the Shiv Sena and the BJP for not undertaking proper infrastructure work in Mumbai and Nagpur. Criticising the parties, the Opposition said that poor infrastructure in both the cities got exposed after they turned into Venice this monsoon throwing people's lives in haywire.

According to the Oppositions, the tall claims made by Shiv Sena-led Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and BJP-led Nagpur corporation about their world class infrastructure got exposed in the monsoon. "Shiv Sena and BJP didn't turn Mumbai and Nagpur into Singapore buy Venice. People are rather than using the public transport to reach the offices and destinations, were seen using boats. It's an irony that Mumbaikars are highest tax payers in the country but in return, they are getting the lowest quality of infrastructure," alleged Sachin Ahir; president of the NCP's Mumbai unit.

"Mumbai city is literally crumbling. The roads are potholes ridden. Even normal rainfal causes waterlogging in the city forcing schools and offices to shut down. Apart from huge financial loses, the city has to bear loss of lives too," said Ahir said.

Nawab Malik, the Nationalist Congress Party spokesperson said that Nagpur is the home town of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minster Nitin Gadkari, still the city is battling waterlogging since years.
