Navi Mumbai-based non governmental organisation, Humanity First Foundation, will be organising an event on May 31 at Marathi Sahitya Sanskruti Kala Mandir in Vashi's sector 6.

The agenda of the event is to launch their project, Udaan. It will be a cultural show and the NGO will be enlightening the audience about their project.

"Udaan is the medium through which we will try to help the police force. Our mission is to make sure that we address the problems faced by the city's police department," says Anupam Gupta, spokesperson of the NGO.

Over the years, the city's law enforcement officers' basic needs have been neglected. "We are trying to pass a bill that will help police officials and in turn also hope that someday it becomes a law. The officials are paid less and they working hours are odd. What came as a shock is even their ammunition are not updated. AK-47 is outdated and our police department does not even have these guns," adds Gutpa.

This is an inaugural event by the NGO in the satellite city and they will be covering areas such as Raigad, Thane and Mumbai. It will be a cultural evening with dance performances and singing sensations displaying their talents on stage. This will be followed by health check ups and blood donation camps.

This foundation has been working towards social causes for more than three years now, and aims to continue to work with dedication and conviction.
