Mumbai: Masked men rob courier boy at Lower Parel

The incident took place around 11 pm near Mathuradas Mill Compound when Bukhar was carrying a bag containing gold to deliver it to Domestic airport.

The NM Joshi Marg Police are on the lookout for two persons, who allegedly robbed a courier boy at Lower Parel on Saturday night and fled with a bag containing gold worth crore of rupees.

Complainant Mukesh Kumar Bukhar works as a courier boy in a company collects the ornaments and cash from local jewellers and factories and delivers it at the domestic airport from where the parcels are sent to Delhi as per order received from clients.

According to the police, the incident took place around 11 pm near Mathuradas Mill Compound when Bukhar was carrying a bag containing gold to deliver it to Domestic airport.

"After collecting the consignment, when Bukhar was on his way to the car to take him to the airport from Mathuradas Mill Compound, two men who had their faces covered with masks, threatened Bukhar on knife-point. Bukhar resisted, after which the robbers injured him and fled with the bag," said a police officer.

Bukhar immediately alerted his employer and got a police complaint lodged. The police are yet to ascertain the value of the ornaments which were in the bag.

"We would make inquiries with the staff of courier company as there could well be an insider hand in the case. We are also checking the CCTV footage of the all the escape routes from the spot to get more clues about the robbers," said the officer.
