The Jamnalal Bajaj Insitute of Management Studies recently held its 8th annual management and cultural fest, Pratyaksha, organised by executive MBA students. The 2-day event kicked off with an inspirational address by IMC president Prabodh Thakker at the Sir Cowasjee Jehangir Convocation Hall, University of Mumbai. "The lack of governance impacts perception about one's country at the international level. Growth or governance in isolation may not work. They are interdependent," he said. The address was attended by corporate stalwarts and academicians like Balakrishna Parab. The ideas presented by students were scrutinised and analysed by panelists. Events like Brand India and Executive Hunt remained favourites amongst the corporate and the students with the winning ideas were encouraged to take them forward.

The second day was full of management games like 'D Amazing Race', 'Finmash' and 'Investor's Dilemma', games conceptualized by students, which tested acumen in various subjects such as operations, marketing, human resources and finance. The biggest buzz in the last two months was about the 'Fundtastic Cup' app. Belly dancing workshops, graphology, Xchange it books and the iRevo PlayCast app also attracted a host of students.

Pratyakha 8.0, powered by dna, concluded with great pomp and show. Dr Kavita Laghate said, "Pratyaksha is a one of its kind B-school annual event by part-time executives as it seeks to attain integration of academia and the corporate world through networking and development initiatives all through the two days. The efforts that the students invest in this event will definitely add value to their professional lives."
