A total of 516 answer papers of Hindi medium history, science and Sanskrit examinations were stolen from the principal's cabin at Dahisar's Isra Vidyalaya on April 3.
Almost a month after over 300 missing SSC examination answer sheets from Dahisar's Isra Vidyalaya were found, the board is yet to get their custody and evaluation work hasn't begun.
A total of 516 answer papers of Hindi medium history, science and Sanskrit examinations were stolen from the principal's cabin at Dahisar's Isra Vidyalaya on April 3.
After the answer sheets of 330 students were found by the Dahisar police on April 15, officials at the Mumbai divisional board had said that these papers might be evaluated if they are readable. However almost a month after the cops have found the papers, evaluation work has still not started as the board is yet to get custody of these papers. "We are yet to get the custody of those papers. As soon as we get them, board appointed evaluators would assess these papers" said SY Chandekar, Secretary,Mumbai Divisional Board.
Meanwhile, Chandekar said that there is no decision yet on what would happen to students whose answer sheets are still missing. "We have decided to wait till a little before results to take a call on how these students can be marked for their missing papers. If the police are not able to find the papers before results we would have to decide on a marking scheme. If these papers are found even a few days before results, they would be assessed" added Chandekar.
Dahisar police is still trying to look for the remaining answer sheets with not much luck. "We have searched the entire area where the first set of papers was found but have not been successful in finding any more papers. The search is still on and we shall try our best to recover the remaining papers before the results" said Subhash Sawant, Senior police inspector at the Dahisar police station.
