The NSCI Worli was jam-packed on Monday as more than 10,000 people turned up to attend an out of the box fashion show organised by BJP leader Shaina NC in association with the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA).

The fashion show, which is being organised for last 20 years gives an opportunity to cancer survivors and their families to walk the ramp for cancer awareness. “The idea is to change the whole pattern of fashion shows. Instead of a big event where there are several celebrities, we call cancer survivors and their families who are real life heroes due to their struggles,” said Shaina NC at the event.

Titled ‘caring with style’ this year, the fashion show saw cancer survivors take the centre stage. Erstwhile Indian women’s cricket team captain and cancer survivor Diana Eduljee, and former top cop Julio Ribeiro were the show stoppers for the evening.

“We got the best show stoppers for the event. While Diana has herself battled eye cancer, Julio’s wife has been a cancer survivour. It was great to have people of this stature talking about an issue that needs to be spoken about,” she said adding that the packed stadium was a sign of success for the show and the cause.

All the funds raised from the show will be donated to the CPAA towards treatment of children suffering from blood cancer.
