BJP corporator from Colaba, Makrand Narvekar, has again mired himself in a controversy as he faced flak from his own party members as well as the opposition. The internal fight in the BJP has moved a notch higher with Narvekar being targeted on social media for his posters surfacing in areas which are not represented by him.

Earlier, another BJP corporator from Girgaum area, Rita Makwana, had complained to the party high command about Narvekar for encroaching on her ward. However, this time, controversy erupted when Narvekar's poster appeared alongside BJP ML Raj Purohit.

Many posters feauring Narvekar surfaced in the areas of Chira Bazaar, Kalbadevi etc. during and after Holi celebrations.

Shiv Sena party workers posted the pictures of posters featuring Narvekar and Purohit. Sena member, Amit Bhadricha, tweeted, "Seems like BJP corporator (A Ward) Makarand Narvekar is planning to contest assembly elections from BJP for Colaba Constituency by looking at the size of banner & that too in different ward (C Ward)."

Narvekar claimed that his supporters have put up the pictures and he has no role in it. "It's not me, who puts these posters, there are people who respect my dad because he has represented this area earlier in the state. People know me and these posters come up without my knowledge and I cannot stop anyone from putting these posters," he said.

Meanwhile, Raj Purohit said, "The issue isn't ripe enough for me to speak yet. There is a party discipline that everyone needs to follow, some people in the party have taken up the issue already."
