AIB YouTube video raises hackles of religious groups

Two separate complaints have been filed against All India Bakchod (AIB) — Knockout, a YouTube show, by two socio-religious organisations in the city.

While the first was filed by Akhilesh Tiwari, president of Brahman Ekta Seva Sanstha with the Sakinaka police, the second was lodged with Bandra police by Agnelo Fernandes, head of Maharashtra Christian Youth Forum.

While both the groups have given a written application to the respective police stations, FIRs are yet to be registered.As per the complaints, the show, featuring host Karan Johar, actors Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, and various other TV personalities was allegedly abusive, offensive and hurt religious sentiments.The comedy show, which was performed for a private audience in the city and aired on YouTube, starred the director-actor trio had the performers taking a dig at each other along with other panelists. The show has been going viral on Youtube since one week."We have received an application and only after we verify the facts will we file a complaint. We will be examining the video that has been submitted," said Prassana More, senior PI of Sakinaka police.
