China-based Li Yan, a personnel of Standard Chartered Bank China on Saturday said that the USD multi-billion deals signed between Indian and Chinese companies have a huge potential on one hand and are filled with challenges on the other.

Li said that Standard Chartered Bank seeks to overcome the challenges of non-familiarity with the Indian market by supporting the Chinese firms and provide support to them throughout the process.

"I think there are huge opportunities in terms of business between two countries. Just like today Prime Minister Modi signed over multi-billion contract. As a businessperson, I think there is a huge potential. But, there are also challenges because the Chinese are not so familiar with the Indian market," Yan said.

"The key issue is how we can help the Chinese companies to do business in India. So, one of the things that the Standard Chartered Bank can do is that we are going to support the Chinese companies in India that is why I am going to New Delhi," he added.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the top business tycoons of China and pitched the 'Make in India' initiative to them.

The Prime Minister is in the final leg of his visit to China. In the evening, he is scheduled to depart for the Mongolian capital Ulan Bator.
