Durga Puja this year is going to be spicier with SpiceJet offering its passengers authentic Bengali meals and traditional 'Dhak music' on board its flights from Kolkata.

"Food plays an important role in the Durga Puja festival and to celebrate its true spirit, SpiceJet has designed a traditional Bengali in-flight menu available only on the flights going out of Kolkata," SpiceJet sources said. "During the period from Saptami (October 20) to Nabami (October 22), patrons will be served authentic Bengali cuisine which includes dishes such as Narkol Diye Ghoogni, Sita Bhog, Mangsher Chop among others for breakfast while offering Misti Bengali Pulao, Kasha Murgi and Phulkopi Karaisuti Diye Moong Dal for lunch," it said.

This year the airline intends to impress its customers with a spirit that would keep them engaged even at 30,000 feet above the ground level. In synchronisation with the mood of the festival, two lady crew-members of the operating cabin crew will be dressed in traditional Bengali 'laal paar' Saris on select outbound flights from Kolkata. The 'Dhak music', which has a strong nostalgic value attached, will be played on all flights operating to and from Kolkata between October 20 and October 23, the sources said.
