The season of gifting is almost upon us and what better way to marry the whole philosophy of being a giver with special cause that betters someone’s life. And that’s also the basis of the annual IMC exhibition that will take place at the World Trade Center on October 14-15.

Smita Dandekar, president Ladies Wing, IMC,  is feeling ebullient over the event and the people participating in it.

The event will display a range of clothes, accessories, jewellery, home decorative items, gifting options as well as a bag drop-off area. Several participating NGOs will be given a free platform to showcase their skills. In addition, a portion of the net surplus generated will be used toward IMC Ladies’ Wing’s charitable causes and affiliations.

Theatre veteran Sabira Merchant is looking forward to participating.

“The IMC is giving women an excellent platform to showcase their talents.”

Dr Swati Piramal will present her new line of fragrances.  “We are raising money for ‘The Meal for School Children’ programme. Our theme for the bottles is retro, from the ’70s, inspired by Andy Warhol,” she informs.

Fashion designer Masaba Gupta, a first-time participant, reveals, “I’m showing my collection of sarees, tunics and festive creations.” Aarti Surendranath, committee member who has been involved with the IMC for a long while now, says, “This is the only exhibition where the Committee Members have no personal stake in it, unlike other exhibitions."
