Going by the flamboyance and grandiosity of Araaish, one is likely to assume it’s just another extravagant fashion event. But what makes Araaish stand apart is its association with Save the Children India Foundation — a charity organisation run by Mana Shetty and her siblings Rahul Kadri and Isha Mehra. As a tribute to their late mother Vipula Kadri, the trio have dedicated themselves towards this charity foundation and as a fund raiser programme, host this event’s fashion show each year.

Participating in the upcoming show are top-notch designers like Surily Goel, Pria Kataria Puri, Queenie and Mana Shetty among many others. Each of these designers will unravel their brand new collection at the show. “This is what makes it different; every designer ought to have a new collection,” explains Mana, who defines her collection as “a complete summer wear.” “Colour wise I have stuck to pinks, nudes, beige…all summer colours basically. Also, I have used a lot of laces.

Besides dresses, I also have some Pakistani pyjamas in vibrant colours.”

For Goel, it is her first show of the year where she showcases her summer collection. “This time my collection chiefly includes Indian wear — salwar kameez, leheriya, patialas, besides my trademark tunics and dresses.”

Talking about her collection, designer Pria Kataria Puri says, “I’ll be launching a new line based on landscapes.” She’ll also be displaying her popular Maharani Gayatri Devi collection.
Jewellery designer Queenie will have some “bright colours, butterflies and flowers,” on display.

“Araaish is a shopping day out for women,” asserts event organiser Sharmila Khanna. Apparels apart, it also has jewellery, accessories, shoes, bags, household stuff, etc. Guests and visitors are pampered further by music events and massage parlours at the venue itself.
