Katy Perry, Rihanna and Coldplay, the National Football League's top choices to play the 2015 Super Bowl Halftime Show, are being asked if they were willing to pay the league for what is potentially one of the biggest gigs in the world, The Wall Street Journal recently reported
What the NFL is asking
That artists exchange a portion of their post-Super Bowl tour earnings
That they make some sort of financial contribution to the league, instead.
What we imagine they were told...

Rihanna: That's the best joke I've heard all year!
Katy Perry: Yeah, sure! Wait, what? Hell, no!
Coldplay: Ho, hum... oh wait, you ARE serious!
So what's the issue here?
Well, the League doesn't pay artists who perform during the Halftime Show, but they do cover travel and production expenses, that cost up to a million dollars per artist.
The Halftime Show's popularity has only risen over the years (with rise in viewership for Halftime being more than the total number of viewers watching the game), making some money off it makes sense.
But really, think the artists are gonna wanna pay??
