New York Fashion Week introduces new trend called 'vagina wigs', in pics

New York Fashion Week has introduced a new fashion fad which has taken the Internet by a storm - Vagina Wigs.

Yes, that's this bizarre accessory has caught everyone's attention as models walked the runway in vagina wigs to present designer Kaimin's 2018 Spring / Summer collection, 'Oriental Garden'. The South Korean designer is known for quirky dressing for the likes of Bjork and Lady Gaga in the past has now grabbed eyeballs with his new collection as well. It includes studded blazers, iridescent raincoats, and tulle bodysuits among others. Not just spiked hair extensions and Mohawks, vagina wigs are also worn at the crotch area.  

Also known as Merkins, these v-wigs were worn by prostitutes beginning in the 1600s for various health reasons. They have returned in the year 2018 at one of the world's biggest fashion week and in a range of colours, lengths and styles.

 According to Ne York Post, designer Kaimin’s press release stated that the punk-inspired mohawk-merkins were created “to assist irregular silhouettes” and “to bridge the gap of hard versus soft.”
