These friends from hell are not the cheesy variety. In fact they are so far gone, it makes you wonder how did they ever end up being friends with anyone. From a doctor in Gregory House who has absolutely no scruples to a Mr-Know-It-All in Sheldon Cooper, we list down the worst pals on TV.

Sheldon Lee Cooper

Show: The Big Bang Theory

What happens when a geeky nerd who is lacking in social skills meets a good-natured and earnest Leonard Hofstadter? A big bang of another kind, not exactly a power game here as Sheldon has the advantage due to his much talked about roommate agreement. From agreeing to a one-sided agreement to start with, to putting up with Sheldon’s eccentric and often unreasonable demands and constant jibes. Not exactly the kind of person who fits the best friends description. Case in point Leonard and Sheldon are playing the three dimensional chess game from the original Star Trek series  only to be checkmated by Sheldon and then to be picked on by him as he goes on to say, “ It must be humbling to suck on so many different levels.”

Janice Hosenstein

Show: F.R.I.E.N.D.S

While Janice technically was Chandler’s girlfriend, she still features on this list as she sees herself as a friend of both Monica and Chandler and even wants to be a part of their wedding celebrations. The feeling of friendship is definitely not mutual as the duo decide to lie to get Janice to skip their wedding. While we personally think she is not a bad person to have around, it’s just her voice that gets to you every single time, and you end up wishing you don’t ever have the misfortune of having a friend who sounds like Janice.

Dr Gregory House

Show: House

He is a brilliant doctor who has chucked the moral rulebook out of the window. His priorities are crystal clear  when it comes to his patients. To save them by hook or crook. And while he enjoys toying with everyone around him, its his so-called best friend Dr James Evan Wilson, who is far worse off. The perfect example is House trying to hit on Wilson’s neighbour by pretending to be Wilson’s gay partner, inspite of being aware of the fact that the latter is interested in her. So it’s not only the moral code but even the bro code that’s given a miss by House so he can simply toy with Wilson by having a fling with the woman he wants to date.

Peter Griffin

Show: Family Guy

Selfish, stupid are just some of the many negative words that describe Peter Griffin, who for lack of a milder word is an ass and is far from likeable. His motivations for the most part are self-serving. Clearly a character that does not echo the friendship ethos in any way.

Petyr Baelish aka Littlefinger

Show: Game Of Thrones

Petyr Baelish knows that to survive in the Game Of Thrones one has to play it smart, pit one king against the other, and come on top, surviving on his cunning manipulations has got the character so far as Season 8. By now, all GOT fans know that Littlefinger the nickname Baelish goes by, is not a friend you can rely on. He will do anything and everything to save his skin. After all, everyone has seen Ned Stark paying with his head on the block,w for trusting him.

Cosmo Kramer

Show: Seinfield

He is the neighbour/friend from hell who lives off Jerry Seinfield’s generosity and welfare. Poor hygiene, no respect for an individual’s privacy and a complete disregard for himself and his friends has often put them at harm’s way. While he is not exactly Mr Dependable, he is definitely a friend you could do without for exactly the reasons mentioned above.

Chanel Oberlin

Show: Scream Queens

Played by the feisty and sassy Emma Roberts, Chanel Oberlin is one of the most complex and entertaining characters on TV. She has three minions, who she addresses as Chanel No 2, 3 and 5. She’s way too narcissistic to remember their real names. The ‘disgusting rich’ President of Kappa Kappa Tau aims to marry the most eligible bachelor on the campus, who’s as peculiar and complicated as she is. She’s always clad in fur, pearls or feathers and addresses designer Karl Lagerfeld as — ‘Uncle Karl’. There’s no end to her reign of terror - she fries her maid’s face in the boiling oil in the kitchen, gives a cool makeover to the neck brace — Hester, played by Lea Michele and in the end pens a corrosive missive on an email addressed to the ‘useless Kappa sisters’,  which is leaked on the internet making her the face of hate in the US. She’s selfish to the core and isn’t coy about it.

Dwight K Schrute

Show: The Office

The snitch who will tell on you just to get ahead is probably not the friend you are looking for and will never give anyone any friendship goals to envy. Apart from the fact that Dwight is self serving he is also not a reliable or dependable personality.

Pierce Hawthorne

Show: Community

Pierce is not a character you can fall in love with. He is annoying, boring and downright offensive. Clearly not the best recco for a friend.
