Congress seems to be playing KBC (Kaun Banega Crorepati) in order to not reveal the answer of the question, ‘Who will be the CM face of Rajasthan.’ Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot responded on these lines to a query in a press conference held post Manvendra Singh taking membership of Congress in the presence of many senior party leaders in New Delhi.

Gehlot said, “Kaun Banega Crorepati pahle se pata chalta hai kya? (Who knows in advance who will be the Crorepati),”  while referring to the popular quiz show KBC hosted by Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan.

On this, Congress national spokesperson Randeep Singh Surajewala, while appreciating Gehlot’s reply quipped, “It is called helicopter shot of Dhoni.” This comes at a time when question of who will be the CM if Congress comes to power in Rajasthan has been doing the rounds since long.

Meanwhile, Gehlot has accused chief minister Vasundhara Raje for conspiring against ex-external minister Jaswant Singh, father of Manvendra Singh, to deny him ticket from Barmer-Jaisalmer Lok Sabha seat.

“I see it as a conspiracy. (On his candidature), a few leaders made it a personnel ego. They were concerned that what decisions this man (Jaswant) could take if he won. Vasundhara ji deliberately conspired with some leaders in the BJP to cut his ticket. It is my observation,” said Gehlot.

On the other hand Manvendra said that he would work effectively for the party in coming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

When asked did he lay any conditions to join the party, Manvendra told mediapersons, “I did not table any conditions or demands before joining Congress. I was in touch with Rahulji and Sachinji since long. There are some public and personnel reasons (due to which I joined the party). Now the Swabhimaan Sena will work for the party in the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections,” said Singh while accepting publicly, the first time, the reasons that forced him to switch party.

Moreover, Singh courted a controversy linking Rafale deal with illness of Goa chief minister Manohar Parikkar. “Of the leaders in BJP that I respect, Parrikar holds the first place. I would say about Raffle on this that his illness is caused by Rafale file,” said he.

It may be noted that Parrikar was the defence minister when the deal for 15 Rafale aircraft was signed. He is being treated for a pancreatic ailment these days.

Meanwhile, PCC chief Sachin Pilot welcomed Manvendra in the party.

“Manvendra Singh is a grass roots leader who raises voice for the people of the state. His presence in the Congress will strengthen the party not just in Marwar but in the entire Rajasthan. I hope he would be able to spread the programmes and policies of the party to the doorsteps of the public,” said Pilot in a Facebook post.
