UDID card will now be delivered at home

They now don’t need to go to assembly constituency wise second and third phase of the camp

In a huge relief to specially-abled people, the state government has decided that they would get new certificate and UDID card at home. Those who already have certificate will not be required to go to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya camp for specially-abled persons.

The decision will help around 2 lakh specially-abled people who already have certificate of disability. They now don’t need to go to assembly constituency wise second and third phase of the camp.

Social justice and empowerment department officials have been calling or sending message on their mobile to inform that they need not come to the camp to avoid unnecessary hassle. Their old certificates would be sent to Delhi and social welfare ministry will provide UDID card within one and half month to the to enable them to receive pension ot any other government scheme anywhere in the country.

So far, nine lakh differently abled people have applied and almost all applications have been sent to the medical department so that it can issue their certificates and UDID card. The second phase will continue till December 12 while the third phase will begin from December 13  and conclude on March 31, next year.

In the last phase they will be given artificial limbs free of cost. According to old census there were 15 lakh specially abled people in which people with less than 40% disability were also getting benefit, which has now been changed and only those with above 40% disability would get the benefit.

  • Additional director, department of specially abled people said, “We are providing data to the medical department. Soon, they will be forwarded to social welfare department in Delhi and within a month UDID cards of more than two lakh divyangjan would be made.”
