On the warpath: RTDC staff to hold protest today

Agitation is against giving the corporation properties on PPP basis

While special secretary of tourism department and director of RTDC Pradeep Borad is busy promoting tourism in ITB Berlin, Germany, the employees of RTDC have gone on the warpath once again.

The RTDC employees’ union has decided to start agitation from Wednesday against giving the RTDC properties on PPP basis and many other demands including action against the officials who have been responsible for reducing the income of the corporation.

The employees have been demanding reopening of the units which have been closed. Notably, about a dozen hotels and motels were closed so that they can be given on PPP basis.

Giving the information, Tej Singh Rathore, president of employees union said that the employees will be going on agitation from Wednesday against the government for not giving attention to the corporation and selling of the units of RTDC.

He informed that on Wednesday employees will be working wearing black ribbon while on Thursday, a gate meeting will be held in the afternoon to decide on the future course of action which may also include starting of hunger strike.

The employees had earlier too resorted to such agitation in support of their various demands which also included receiving salary on time.

This time they are also demanding implementation of recommendation of 7th pay commission. The state government has already announced and started giving the salary as per the recommendations of the 7th pay commission, however, in RTDC it is yet to be incorporated.
