Jaipur district administration, on Monday, changed the timings of the district-based private as well as public schools to 10am. This change will be applicable from January 09, 2018, to January 13, 2018.
The order came as a response to the latest weekly reports by the meteorological department which predicts a dip in the temperature. District collector, Siddharth Mahajan released the orders after a detailed discussion with the officials of Department of Education, Rajasthan. It is to be noted that, Mahajan, on January 03, 2018, had informed DNA that the administration is keeping a watch on the temperature and will take a call by the end of the week.
Mohanlal Yadav, additional district collector - I, directed all sub-divisional officers to execute the orders with the help of district educational officers (primary/secondary) of their respective areas.Several parents also shared their experiences with DNA narrating the issue of sending their wards to schools when it was still dark and foggy.
However, city-based school principals said that change in school timings or shutting down of the institutions due to change in weather leads to a halt in the syllabus and the monthly schedule of the same goes for a toss.
