Jaipur is the fastest moving state capital in India

The award was received by Mayor Ashok Lahoti, director Local Bodies (DLB) Pawan Arora, and Commissioner of Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) Ravi Jain.

City attained two achievements on Saturday. First, it got the 39th position in the Swachh Sarvekshan (Clean Survey) -2018 and second the Jaipur city has been awarded Fastest Moving State Capital by the Ministry of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) in a function organised in Indore. The award was received by Mayor Ashok Lahoti, director Local Bodies (DLB) Pawan Arora, and Commissioner of Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) Ravi Jain.

Winners of various categories of the Swachh Sarvekshan-2018 were felicitated at the ceremony organised at Brilliant Convention Center, Indore. Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) Hardeep Singh Puri, Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra and Madhya Pradesh’s Urban Development Minister Maya Singh were present.

Meanwhile, Kota Mayor Mahesh Chand Sharma and Kota Municipal Corporation’s (KMC) deputy commissioner Rajesh Daga were also felicitated. It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing had conducted Clean Survey -2018 from December 2017 to February 2018. A survey of 4047 cities across the country was held for various categories. In the survey, two cities of the state - Jaipur and Kota - were selected in two categories. Jaipur was declared first in the Fastest Moving State Capital and Kota city ranked first in the City Feedback category.

In the Swachh Survekshan 2018, various teams of MoHUA evaluated the 4047 cities on the basis of solid waste management (processing, collection and transportation) among others.
