19-year-old Jasoda takes world in her stride with Jaipur Foot

The 19-year-old Jasoda, who had been handicapped for a long time, became emotional when she walked for the first time after wearing artificial Jaipur Foot. She had never imagined that one day she will be standing on her feet.

Her life changed after receiving Jaipur foot for both feet at the three-day camp organised by Jaipur Foot US of Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti in Nakoda. 

The three-day free camp for differently abled people organised in collaboration with Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti and Prabha Kanakraj Golia, concluded on Tuesday with the implantation of  Jaipur foot to Jasoda. Nearly 1775 differently abled people benefited from the camp.

Prem Bhandari, chairman of Jaipur Foot US, said that the eyes of 800 patients were examined by the Chakshu Seva Samiti at the camp. In this, 550 glasses were distributed and selected 50 patients for the operation. Under the guidance of Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti, Jaipur’s chief patron DR Mehta, 125 Jaipur foot, 100 caliper, 200 tricycle, 200 wheelchairs, 80 crutches, 230 ears machine, 80 veterans stick, 40 walkers have been given at the camp.
