The rural police arrested a man from Kolkata in connection with the house break-in incident that occurred in Bavla, in the wee hours of August 25. A team of rural police went to Kolkata and nabbed the accused, who was brought to Ahmedabad.

Talking to DNA, a senior cop said that the police team received some leads in connection with the case where mobile phones worth Rs2.96 lakh were stolen from a shop. He added that the police team had camped in Kolkata for several days. 

The team was headed by police sub inspector posted in Rapid Response Cell, JH Dahiya. The police has nabbed Noor Islam alias Izabul Shemsher Shaikh from Kolkata and their search is on to nab other members of Shaikh's gang.

The police zeroed in on Shaikh when they found that some people who had come to Bavla to work as labourers were missing since the house break-in. The police also  found out that Shaikh, who had come to Bavla on August 21, as a labourer was missing since the incident.

"After tracing out links of the house break-in to Jharkhand and Kolkata, we decided to camp in Kolkata," Dahiya said. He further said that the accused is in police remand and the police are in the process to nab the other accused involved in the case.
