Slamming political parties ahead of state assembly elections,
Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi has said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the state ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are internally connected.

Talking to reporters here, Joshi said: "BJP and BSP have been supporting each other since long and are connected internally with each other.

"If you see, both BJP and BSP the parties appear to be different and show two different doors but on the other side, they have an internal connection and this internal connection was there earlier also and it is still maintained between them and will be having it in future when needed. They have a policy to support each other. So the kind of remarks BJP is making, I believe that the public will not come in that trap and people are angry over them and soon Bharatiya Janata Party will loose its credibility," Joshi added.

Firing a salvo against the Chief Minister Mayawati, Joshi said that she hasn't commenced the legal investigation against tainted ministers and is trying to help them with her political powers.

" Mayawati has to tell it to the state that after how many people she has commenced the legal investigation against the tainted ministers and if she has not done it and then she is also involved in this crime and is trying to safeguard other tainted ministers. What is this political move, one side you campaign that you will curb corruption from the nation and on other side they involved corrupt ministers and give tickets to them and later join them into politics," she said.

"So on behalf of the Congress party that if any party who will fight for corruption that is the only Congress party and would bring an effective and strong Lokpal Bill," she added.

Ever since the Election Commission of India announced the polls schedule, Mayawati had sacked over a dozen ministers accused of corruption from her cabinet in the past few weeks.

Two of those expelled ministers, Babu Singh Kushwaha and Badshah Singh, had opted to join the BJP's ranks and focus their political power to defeat Mayawati in the elections.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday raided Kushwaha's residence for his alleged involvement in swindling funds allocated to the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), a Central Government's health scheme for the rural population.

The investigating agency also conducted raids at over 50 other locations in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi.

Kushwaha has been named as an accused with 50 others including government officials in FIRs registered against the NRHM officials and private companies. They have been charged with criminal misconduct and abuse of office.
