A 50-year-old woman supporter of Baba Ramdev who suffered spinal injuries during the Delhi Police crackdown on the yoga guru’s anti-corruption meeting on June 4 midnight succumbed to injuries on Monday. Rajbala died following a cardiac arrest after battling for life for 113 days in a Delhi hospital.
Consequently, Ramdev has decided to file a case against the Delhi Police and home minister P Chidambaram.
Several supporters of Ramdev were admitted to hospital after the Delhi Police’s action against Ramdev and his supporters at the Ramlila Maidan on the intervening night of June 4-5.Rajbala was admitted to hospital with spinal injuries. A couple of days later she slipped into coma and never recovered.A resident of Gurgaon, Rajbala was a former municipal councillor there.
Ramdev termed her death an ultimate sacrifice.
“Her sacrifice will not go in vein… Millions of her brothers and sisters will continue to fight for corruption-free India,” Ramdev said in a statement.
According to the statement, Ramdev’s advocate Ram Jethmalani said a suit will be filed against the police and the home minister.
