The fourth and last surviving cub, given birth by Royal Bengal Tigress Ipshita recently, died yesterday due to cardio-respiratory failure, they said.

The first cub who was very weak had died on November 11, the second died on November 15 as the big cat had abandoned them after which the zoo authorities took the custody of the remaining two cubs and shifted them to the ICU.

The third cub, who was very weak, died on November 18.

It was after a long gap of 14 years that tiger cubs were born at the Lucknow zoo.

It was in 1995 when three Royal Bengal tigress -- Deepali, Shefali and Rupali -- were born here.
