Five juvenile inmates escaped from the government observation home at Mohan Raod, police said here today.

While two of the inmates were apprehended with the help of the locals, three of them were still at large and efforts were being made to nab them, they said, adding the five had escaped through the kitchen window of the observation home.

The incident came into light when the juvenile home authorities found five inmates missing during counting yesterday, they said.

Official said six homeguard jawans and the caretaker of the observation home may face suspension for dereliction of duty.
