The dawn-to-dusk strike called by pro-Sangh Parivar Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh against price rise in Kerala partly disrupted normal life across the state today.

Reports from different parts of the state said buses, taxis and autorickshaws were largely off the roads and shops remained closed in urban areas.

The situation, however, was by-and-large normal in semi-urban and rural areas. State-run KSRTC is operating services in most places.

Six BJP-RSS workers were arrested at Edakkara in Malappuram district for trying to forcibly close shops, police said.

A couple of KSRTC buses were stoned in Kollam.
