A woman college lecturer has lodged a complaint about death threats received by her through social media allegedly from right wing activists in connection with display of a painting by renowned artist late M F Hussain in the campus here.
Deepa Nishanth, a lecturer at Thrissur-based Kerala Varma College, alleged today that her morphed pictures with derogatory comments were widely circulated and shared through social media.
She said the threat seemed to be on the assumption that she was in support of the exhibition of the controversial painting 'Saraswathy' by Hussain in the college campus.
The banner, with the painting, was put out by activists of SFI, the students union of ruling CPI(M), as part of welcoming the newcomers to the college, she said.
"I was shocked to see the series of abusive comments against me through social media for a matter in which I was not at all involved," Deepa told
