Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh announced that a separate industrial force would be raised in Uttar Pradesh for providing special security cover to those investing in the state.

Speaking at the 'Industrial and Infrastructure Security' session of the UP Investors' Summit, Rajnath said that guaranteed security works like an insurance for assured investment.

"Security to those making investment should be the top priority of the state government. The government has already taken many steps under its 'zero tolerance for crime' campaign," said Singh, the Lok Sabha MP from state capital Lucknow.

"The government needs to develop an internal mechanism for better security cover for industrial security. Some states have raised their own industrial security forces. We will also raise a similar industrial security force for Uttar Pradesh to allay fears of industrialists and provide them round-the-clock and better security cover," the minister said.

Rajanth said that though law and order is a state subject, the Centre would offer any help required by the state government in this regard.

Defining UP as a state with 'unlimited potential (UP)', Rajnath said that cyber crime was another challenge: "We need to train our security personnel to face the challenge from those hacking precious data by sitting anywhere in the world."
