Vasundhara Raje told to do balancing act in Cabinet

BJP's central leadership has given a freehand to the CM to select her team but she has also been asked to keep the ideology, image & other things in mind in view of Lok Sabha elections.

Chief minister Vasundhara Raje on Sunday informally discussed the formation of her Cabinet with the central leaders of the BJP in Delhi.

Sources inform that Raje discussed the probable names of her Cabinet ministers with the BJP top brass and RSS‘s officials. Notably, central leadership has given freehand to chief minister to select her ministers but has also asked her to keep the ideology, image and other things in mind in view of the Lok Sabha elections.

Though meeting of parliamentary board which was to happen couldn’t take place as many top leaders were out of Delhi. Sources informed that Raje spoke to Narendra Modi over phone and met BJP president Rajnath Singh before his departure to Dehradun over probable ministers.

Sources informed that  initially the number of ministers will be small and would be somewhere between 10 to 15.  Besides, the  names of the probable candidates for the post of Speaker and the state  BJP president are also to be finalised which will also be decided in consultation with the top brass of the party.

With the death of senior Congress leader and Union minister Sis Ram Ola on Sunday the formation of the Cabinet has also been deferred.

Sources in Raj Bhawan informed that while on Monday there will be cremation of Ola and it is not possible for swearing-in ceremony on Monday the probability of Cabinet swearing in will not be before Tuesday.

Earlier during the day chief minister Raje reached Delhi and was received by senior IAS Rajeev Maharishi, who is slated to be the state’s next chief secretary, at the Indira Gandhi Airport. IAS officer Rashmi Priyadarshini, principal resident commissioner of Rajasthan, and additional resident commissioner Vimal Sharma welcomed Raje on her Delhi visit.

Sources informed that initially the number of Cabinet ministers will be small and the number would be somewhere between 10 to 15.
