Punjab police has issued a security alert on Wednesday about three Pakistani terrorists heading to Kashmir in a car with arms and ammunition.

The terrorists are said to be travelling in a grey Swift Dzire and could target three different cities. "The car with license plate JK-01 AB-2654 could be used in plans," said reports.

"Input received from Special Cell Delhi police that a grey coloured Swift Dzire carrying 3 Pakistan militants & a local with arms, ammunition and possibly suicide belt is likely to cross Banihal Tunnel later tonight today," reported ANI quoting Punjab DGP, Law & Order. "Their target could be Delhi, Goa & Mumbai. Security alert has been issued," he added.

Police have been asked to be on alert at important places, especially at military buildings, markets, malls, train stations and educational institutions.

In January this year, Pakistani terrorist had attacked the Pathankot Air Force Station in which four attackers and two security forces personnel were killed in the initial battle, with an additional security force member dying from injuries hours later. However, the Pakistani Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the Pathankot attack claimed that Indian authorities 'failed' to provide evidence to prove that Pakistan-based terrorists had stormed the IAF base, saying the attack was a drama staged by India to malign Pakistan.
