Telagnana Police have arrested two terror suspects from Mumbai each belonging to Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and Indian Mujahedeen (IM) on their way to Afghanistan for terror training.

Both were nabbed from a Mumbai train at the Secunderabad railway station on Thursday morning. They were allegedly planning terror strikes and were on their way to meet another top gun of terror group in Hyderabad, says Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma.

The terror activists have been identified as Shah Mudassir (25) alias Talha from Umarkhed in Yavatmal district and Shoeb Ahmed Khan (24), a resident of Pusad, Hingoli district of Maharashtra.

Mudassir and Shoeb arrived here to meet one Mothasim Billah in the old city of Hyderabad for assistance to get visa and external contacts in Afghanistan where they were headed for training.

Police also found literature on explosive formula, a pen drive containing Jihadi literature and three HP compact discs containing militant training programmes and jihadi lectures their backpacks.

According to the police, Mudassir is member of SIMI and also a member of Association of Indian Minority Students (AIMS) which is a cover organisation of SIMI. Shoeb Ahmed Khan is an associate of Mansoor Ali Peerboy, (media in charge of Indian Mujahedeen at Pune module). Both are adept in using social networks for propagating jihad.

The duo came into contact with Abu Saif and Kamaran Sha of Pakistan, Zahid Al Hindi of Afghanistan, Mir Showkath, Sameer Khan and Mothasim Billah of Saidabad here. Once, Kamaran Sha of Pakistan shared literature through Facebook on explosives wherein three methods of explosive manufacturing from the locally and easily available chemicals were narrated. Police say that Kamaran Sha motivated both to manufacture bombs and strike cities in Maharashtra, say the police

Mothasim Billah of Hyderabad, who came in contact with these two through Face book, asked them to visit Hyderabad. Mothasim motivated them to go to Afghanistan to get training from al Qaeda in order to wage Jihad in India to establish Islamic State.

Both Mudassir and Shoeb have been booked under sections of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 and u/s 66 of IT Act and sent to judicial custody by a city court

Hyderabad is a known centre for terrorist modules since Pakistani terrorist groups and ISI have been using the jobless Muslim youth for jihadi activities and training them in terrorist camps of Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Pakistan. The state police has floated the 'Octopus' commando unit to gather intelligence and also set up a strike force against terrorist actions.
