BJP leader Sangeet Som's Taj Mahal remark has sparked outrage across India. While many are angry over the BJP MLA's blunt statement on the iconic heritage structure, political parties are also slamming Som.

Asaduddin Owaisi was among the first to react to Taj Mahal row. In a series of tweets, the President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen quoted a news story and said '"Traitors"also build Red Fort will MODI stop hoisting Tiranga ?Can MODI & YOGI tell domestic & foreign tourist not to visit TAJ MAHAL? (sic)'.

Talking about other historical monemuments, he tweeted 'Even Hyderabad House in delhi was built by "Traitor"will MODI stop hosting Foreign Dignitaries?? (sic)'.

Angry of the repeated reference to the Mughal heritage of Taj Mahal, Owaisi went a step further and said that if government wants, it can ask UNESCO to remove the monument from its list. Posing a question to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Owaisi asked can the UP government stop domestic and international tourists from visiting Taj.

The Hyderabad lawmaker's statement came after a video showing Sangeet Som's controversial remark on Taj Mahal went viral.

The video show Som at an event in Meerut, where he said that Taj Mahal has no place in Indian history.

The icon one of the Seven Wonders of World that attracts millions of visitors every year.
