A girl Student of Motilal Vigyan Mahavidyalaya in Bhopal was expelled after she allegedly called her professors "anti-national" in a Facebook post but the student has denied the allegations.

"I was expelled on March 21, based on a Facebook post and came to know about it on March 22. I wasn't given a show-cause notice," the girl was reported as saying by ANI. "They alleged that I have called teachers anti-national which isn't true. We were sitting on protest seeking permission to celebrate Shaheed Diwas," she reportedly alleged.

The girl has further alleged that she wasn't given a fair chance to give her version of the story and explain her case. "I wasn't allowed to speak for myself. Had that been done, teachers would have understood my point of view. I had also taken down the Facebook post but some students took screenshots and spread it. I am being targeted," ANI reported the rusticated student as saying.

According to the principal of the college, the girl student's post indicated that teachers are promoting anti-national thoughts at the College. "Ultimately teachers decided to take action against her. She is making allegations to hide her own fault. If she apologises we'll reconsider the decision," said Niraj Agnihotri, Principal Motilal Vigyan Mahavidyalaya.

"Two groups, the BKD and another students union (the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad), had sought permission for their respective programmes to mark Bhagat Singhs death anniversary which falls on March 23. After permission was denied to both groups, one BKD member called the teachers and professors anti-nationals in a Facebook post," college principal Niraj Agnihotri told PTI.
The decision to expel Khan for a period of one year was taken by the college's staff council, he said.
