Undeterred over resignation of his cabinet colleague and Shiv Sena minister Eknath Shinde, Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis dared Sena at an election rally in Kalyan, near Mumbai, calling the party a drama company.

Earlier in the day, Shinde had offered his resignation to Uddhav Thackeray at a rally which was rejected by him but Thackeray had flayed BJP for its arrogance. Fadanvis called the act as theatrics and claimed Sena was getting frustrated as it was seeing defeat looming large. Sena and BJP are facing each other in Kalyan-Dombivali civic polls.

“Don’t tell us about tiger paws. We put our hands in tiger’s mouth and count its teeth,” Fadanvis told his alliance partner in the government. Shinde’s resignation is fake, don’t be scared by them, he told his supporters at the rally on Friday. “Where was Shiv Sena during emergency?” asked Fadanvis, referring to Sena’s moot support of emergency declared by the then Congress Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
