Flaying the alleged absence of internal democracy in the Congress, BJP president Amit Shah today said that such a political party can never do good for the nation.

"In the BJP, the election for the party president is held every three years. Anyone can tell who will come after me. But in the Congress, Sonia Gandhi is the president. Everybody knows who will be the next," Shah told a meeting of the city's intellectuals.

Any party which does not have the internal democracy cannot do any good to the country, he said adding on the other hand, only a party which has the internal democracy can bring about permanent changes to the country.

Shah took pride in the fact that from Jan Sangh to BJP, the ideology of the party has remained the same and has never changed. "It was Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Vande Mataram".

He said it has become rare now to find a party which goes runs on its ideology. "Only the BJP has that. Not the Congress nor the CPI-M".
