Pune: Two-year-old girl kidnapped and murdered

A two-and-half-year-old girl who had gone missing from her residence in Dhayari area in Pune late on Saturday night was found dead on Sunday morning.  

Her body was found in a secluded area, a few kilometres from her residence. The girl's parents work as daily labourers in the same vicinity. 
 
Police officers of Sinhgad Road police station said, "The girl was seen near her residence on Saturday night from where she went missing. After she could not be traced anywhere, her parents approached the cops. Police registered a case of kidnapping and began a search for the girl."
 
On Sunday morning, a passerby spotted her body in the bushes and informed the police about it. "Prima facie we suspect that the culprit sexually assaulted the girl before killing her. After the murder, he threw her body into the bushes."
