PM Narendra Modi salutes Navy personnel on 43rd Navy Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday took to Twitter to salute Navy personnel on the occasion of the 43rd Navy Day.

"On #NavyDay, I salute our Navy personnel and the impregnable spirit and utmost devotion with which they protect our Motherland," Prime Minister Modi tweeted.

He also commended the Navy for their steadfast dedication and valour, which was an unparalleled asset for the nation. "The steadfast dedication and valour of our Navy Personnel is an unparalleled asset for our Nation," the Prime Minister added.

Earlier today, Chief of Naval staff Admiral Robin K Dhowan said that the personnel of the Navy would rededicate themselves to the service of the nation. The Navy chief, along with Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha and Army Chief Lt. General Dalbir Singh Suhag also paid tributes to martyrs of INS Sindhurakshak at the Amar Jawan Jyoti here.

On the occasion of Navy Day, a series of operational displays will be held in Vishakhapatnam today, commemorating the Indian Navy 's successful operation on Karachi Harbour during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will be the chief guest at the event scheduled to take place at the Ramakrishna Beach. 

According to reports, operational display will have 20 ships, 23 aircraft and a submarine showcasing the capability and versatility of Naval ships, submarines, aircraft and the Special Forces.

The event will begin with Chief of Eastern Naval Command Vice-Admiral Satish Soni laying a wreath at the War Memorial on the Ramakrishna Beach.
